Everything you need to know about our CNC files, machines, and licensing.
Every design includes DXF (v1 and v2), SVG, AI (Adobe Illustrator), PDF, and PNG. DXF is the industry-standard format for CNC plasma tables. SVG works with laser cutters, vinyl plotters, and most design software. AI and PDF are for editing and reference.
Yes — completely free. No email required, no watermarks, no expiry. We share free files because we started out learning from free resources ourselves and believe in giving back to the maker community. We make our income from premium designs.
Yes. All free and paid files include commercial use rights. You can cut them, sell the physical items, give them as gifts, or use them in custom orders. The one thing you cannot do is resell the digital files themselves.
Click the "Free Download" button on any product. You'll be taken to the product page on laradesigncnc.com where the download is available. Most downloads are a ZIP file containing all format variants.
Try a different browser, or disable any ad blockers temporarily. If the issue persists, use the Contact Us page and we'll send the file directly. Include the product name and the error message you see.
Absolutely. Use the Contact Us form, select "Custom Design Request", and attach a reference image or describe what you need. Most custom designs are delivered within 3–5 business days. Pricing depends on complexity.
Our DXF files are compatible with Langmuir CrossFire, CrossFire Pro, and MR-1; Torchmate; ShopSabre; Lincoln Electric; Hypertherm; FingerTech; Razorweld; Everlast; ESAB; and any machine that accepts DXF via SheetCAM, Fusion 360, or FireControl.
DXF files work in: Langmuir FireControl, SheetCAM, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, LibreCAD, Inkscape, and most other CAM software. SVG files work in Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and laser cutter software like LightBurn.
The DXF files are optimized for a cutting beam width up to 0.08 inches (2.032mm). For thinner kerfs, the files will cut clean as-is. For wider kerfs, apply kerf compensation in your CAM software — usually 0.01–0.03" depending on tip size and material thickness.
Most of our signs are designed for 10–14 gauge steel (1.5–3mm). Fire pit plans specify 10 gauge. Garden stakes work best in 12–16 gauge. Always test a small section first on thin material.
Yes. The SVG files work well with laser cutters including Boss Laser, Epilog, Glowforge, and xTool. Use the SVG or PDF versions for best results. DXF also works in LightBurn.
Yes — all files are vector and scale perfectly to any size. The listed dimensions are guidelines. Scale freely in your CAM software. Just note that very small cuts may require thinner material and a smaller cutting tip.
Flat black spray paint or powder coat are the most popular options. For outdoor pieces, powder coat holds up much better. For a raw industrial look, apply a clear coat to prevent rust. Patina finishes (vinegar or salt water treatment) are popular for wall art.
Yes, absolutely. Commercial use is included in every free and paid download. Many of our customers run successful Etsy shops and market stalls selling items cut from our designs. You cannot resell the digital files themselves.
Let the piece cool, then use a wire brush or angle grinder with a flap disc to knock off dross. Reducing your cut speed by 10–15% or increasing amperage slightly will reduce dross at the source. Also check your torch height — too close or too far both cause dross.
Based on feedback from our community: garage signs, garden stakes (especially "Mom's Garden"), fire pits, patriotic flags, and seasonal pieces (pumpkins in fall, Christmas designs in winter). Personalized name signs sell year-round.
No account is required for free files. Just click the download button. For paid files purchased through our store, you'll need to create an account to access your purchases.
Personal use sharing within your own workshop or small team is fine. You cannot post the files publicly, sell them, or redistribute them on file-sharing sites.
For free files, simply download again — they're always available. For paid files, log into your account and re-download from your order history. If you have trouble accessing your account, contact us.
Because digital files are downloadable immediately, we don't offer refunds once a file has been downloaded. If a file has a defect or doesn't match the description, we'll replace it or provide a credit — just contact us within 7 days of purchase.
We reply within 24 hours, Monday – Friday.
